Replacement Kitchen Doors in Nottingham
If your kitchen units are still solid but the doors are dated, chipped, swollen or just not right for the house anymore, you do not need a full new kitchen. You need replacement kitchen doors — fitted properly, by someone who knows the product.
Kudos Kitchens supply and fit replacement kitchen doors across Nottingham and the surrounding NG postcode areas. We focus on the outskirts — Arnold, Gedling, Hucknall, Eastwood, Stapleford, Beeston, West Bridgford and the surrounding areas — where the mix of older properties and newer builds gives us the widest range of work. We travel to Nottingham when the job is right, and we will always tell you honestly whether it is worth your while calling us.
We are Symphony approved, which matters more in Nottingham than most places. A significant proportion of new build properties across the NG postcodes were fitted with Symphony kitchens as standard. If that is what you have got, replacing the doors is often more straightforward than you might think — because we already know the product inside out.
Why Replace the Doors Instead of the Whole Kitchen?
A full new kitchen starts at £12,000 to £13,000 at the entry level. For larger or more specified kitchens, that figure rises. Replacement kitchen doors cost a fraction of that because you are keeping everything that does not need changing — the carcasses, the plumbing, the electrics, and usually the worktops.
It makes sense when:
- The units are square, solid and free from water damage
- The layout still works for how you use the kitchen
- The doors are chipped, swollen, faded or simply the wrong look for the house
- You want a result in days rather than the weeks a full kitchen takes
- You want to improve the property without spending £12,000 plus to do it
It makes less sense if the carcasses are failing, the layout is wrong or you want to redesign the space from scratch. We will tell you that honestly at the home measure. There is no point replacing the doors on a kitchen that needs replacing.
New Build in Nottingham? You Probably Already Have Symphony
A large number of new build properties across the Nottingham outskirts — Arnold, Gedling, Hucknall, Eastwood, Stapleford and beyond — were fitted with Symphony kitchens as standard by the developer. It is one of the most widely used ranges in new build housing across the East Midlands.
That is actually good news if you are looking to replace the doors.
Symphony kitchens follow consistent sizing and construction, which means we know exactly what we are working with before we walk through the door. There is less guesswork, less risk of ordering the wrong thing, and the job tends to run more smoothly than on an older kitchen where nothing is quite standard.
It also means you have a wide choice. Symphony's door range is extensive — dozens of styles and finishes across shaker, slab, handleless, gloss and matt — so if your current doors are the builder's default colour and you want something with more character, the options are genuinely broad.

What Customers Do Not Expect
Whether you have a new build Symphony kitchen or an older property with a kitchen that has seen better days, the assumption is usually the same — replacement doors are a quick, simple job.
They are rarely that simple.
Every kitchen is different. Every set of carcasses throws something up that you did not expect. We go into every home with an open mind because until we are standing in the kitchen we do not know exactly what we are going to find. What we do know is that there will be something to work through, and we will work through it.
The most common complication is end panels. If your kitchen has exposed cabinet sides at the end of a run — common in both older Nottingham properties and in open-plan new builds where the kitchen faces into the living area — those sides need to match the new doors. Sometimes they are already panelled and just need replacing. Sometimes they are not, and fitting matching end panels is a job in itself.
Tall larder units are another regular one. When a full-height larder needs a matching end panel fitted, we often have to move the whole unit 18mm to create the clearance to do it properly. Most customers have not heard of that before we explain it. We have done it enough times that it is just part of how a door job works.
There are always complications. Hinges that are worn and need replacing. Carcasses that are not quite square. Panels from the original fit that are a slightly different thickness to the new ones. We deal with all of it. That is what you are paying for.
How Much Do Replacement Kitchen Doors Cost in Nottingham?
Most projects fall between £2,000 and £5,000 supplied and fitted. Where yours sits in that range depends on several things:
The number of doors and drawer fronts
More units means more cost. A smaller kitchen in an older semi will come in lower than a large open-plan kitchen-diner in a newer build with a full larder tower and island.
The door style and finish
Vinyl-wrapped doors are the most budget-friendly. Painted timber, acrylic gloss and premium Symphony ranges cost more. We will show you options at different price points at the home measure so you can make an informed decision rather than a guess.
Standard sizes or made-to-measure
New builds with Symphony kitchens tend to use standard sizing, which keeps costs down and lead times shorter. Older Nottingham properties often have non-standard cabinet sizes that need made-to-measure doors. We establish this at the measure — you will not find out the wrong way when the doors turn up.
End panels, plinths and finishing details
New doors on an old plinth with mismatched end panels will always look unfinished. We quote these separately so you can see exactly what each element costs and decide what to include.
Handles and hinges
Handle choice changes the feel of a kitchen as much as the door style does. Soft-close hinge upgrades are worth doing at the same time — minimal extra cost when everything is already being fitted and you notice the difference every single day.
After your free home measure you will receive a written, itemised quote covering doors, drawer fronts, handles, hinges, end panels, fitting and VAT. Everything is listed separately. No surprises.
The Door Ranges We Supply
Symphony replacement doors
Symphony is one of the UK's largest fitted furniture manufacturers and the range we work with most regularly in Nottingham — partly because so many properties in the area already have Symphony carcasses. The range covers shaker, slab, handleless, gloss and matt across a wide choice of colours, and eligible ranges carry product guarantees of up to 10 years through approved retailers.
Made-to-measure and bespoke doors
For older Nottingham properties with non-standard cabinet sizes, or for customers who want a specific finish that is not available in the Symphony catalogue, we source made-to-measure doors. Lead times are longer and cost is higher, but the fit is precise and the result is right.
At the home measure we bring samples from both routes, explain the difference clearly and recommend whichever option gives you the best result for your kitchen and your budget.
Styles, Finishes and Colours
The styles we fit most regularly across Nottingham and the surrounding area:
- Shaker — the safest long-term choice, works in almost any property old or new
- Slab / flat — clean and contemporary, popular in open-plan new builds
- High-gloss — reflects light well, good for kitchens that feel dark or enclosed
- In-frame look — traditional and premium, better suited to older character properties
- Matt painted — increasingly popular, softer finish, more practical on a busy kitchen
Colour trends have moved significantly in recent years. Stone, sage, navy, deep green and warm neutral tones are consistently in demand, usually paired with brushed brass or matt black handles. White and cream are still chosen but less automatically than they used to be.
We always recommend a home visit before committing to a colour. A finish that looks right on a screen or in a brochure can look completely different in your kitchen under your lighting, against your flooring and walls. We bring the samples to you so you are choosing from what you can actually see.
